1936 4.25 LITRE DERBY BENTLEY PARK WARD DROP HEAD
CHASSIS NO B19GP
ENGINE NO N7BU
REGISTRATION NUMBER CXU304
A stunning restoration by all the right people (Maggs Vintage, Steve Penny, Guy Waler Etc Etc) to like new condition. Since then the car has covered just a few thousand miles. The engine is utterly silent & starts readily off the advance retard lever even when cold. The hood in addition to being a high quality mohair example also has a beautiful blue lining making the cabin a very snug place to be when the roof is up. All in all this is a super example in like new condition & wants for nothing. You have to see this car to appreciate just how good it is.
The first owner was Mrs A Lindsay-Fynn 6-7-1936
2nd W R Bufton 10-12-1947
3rd Jack Barclay Ltd 18-10-1951
4th Mrs M W Coote 23-10-1951
5th H M Bentley & Partners 2-11-1953
The car was then shipped to San Francisco USA in the mid 1960s and owned by Turner H McBaine and others before returning to the UK in 2012.
Extensive restoration works were started in 2013 by the current owner and have included.
Complete overhaul of the one shot system, chassis clean, overhaul and repair of the shock absorbers, full brake overhaul, road springs cleaned and new Wefco gaiters. New drive dogs, hubs, wheels and tyres
Paintwork stripped back to bare aluminium, repairs to timber body frame and aluminium panels, repainted in cream over navy with a red coach line, some re-chroming and burr walnut veneering to the dashboard all by Penny Vintage Carriage Bodies Ltd.
The steering wheel, clock and switches have all been refurbished.
Engine rebuilt by Maggs Vintage, with new liners, pistons, crankshaft reground, new main, big end and small end bearings, new inlet and exhaust valves and springs.
Interior trimming in cream Connolly Vaumol leather with a new hood and mohair headlining and carpeting by Gary Wright Coach Trimming.
