1929 Bugatti Type 37

Chassis Number:  40579

Registration Number:  SL9982

A beautifully built up car with great attention to detail.  This car was constructed in the 1970's by a Simon Clopper for european road rallies.  It has three original of the 5 important components.  This car was the personal car of the proprietors of the Bugatti Specialists Brineton engineering well known for remanufacturing assorted Bugatti parts.  The car is road legal & comes with the all important UK V5c Document describing it as being of 1929 origin  built from parts some or all of which were not new.  The car is currently lady owned.

The car had not run for two years, but upon arrival after pumping the fuel pressure & tickling the carburettor the car fired up on the third turn of the starting handle & ran for 10 minutes up to temperature making all the right noises.  The engine & mechanicals on the car are in excellent condition with serious performance available.  Behind the rear seat is a useful rubber bungee equipped rack for stroing 5 assorted cans of lubricants etc.

Finished in immauclate black paintwork, the cockpit is clad in maroon leather in perfect condition.  The car sits on 4 cast bladed style wheels shod with period correct syle Michelin tyres that have seen very very little use.  A supercharger unit with its assciated gears is also available by separate negotiaton should the buyer wish to convert it to Blown specification.  There is also an MGF starter motor plus ring gear to bolt to the clutch should electric starting be required as an upgrade.  I can however attest to hte ease of starting it on the handle.
