1958 MGA Coupe
Chassis number: HMK13/44748
Registration Number: 450XUC
Just 44,000 warranted miles from new. This rare car was under a single ladys ownership from 1962 though 2007 & is a very very original unmolested example. A full set of service bills over the years & also various incremental MOT certificates warrant the very low miles.
The car is finished in dark red with the paintwork showing some chips & minor dings such as one might expect to find on an unrestored car. The interior is totally original with good patinated leather seats, original carpets & even an original period valve radio. The interior is utterly charming & a really pleasant place to spend nostalgic moments.
The car sits on 4 chrome wire wheels shod with newish tyres all round. Probably the best part abou tthis car is the actual driving experience. It really goes well with a throaty induction roar from the twin carburettors. On the road it runs very well in modern traffic with an indicated 80 MPH coming up on the speedometer with plenty more to go. It starts instantly from cold with a pull of the starter button, usually with no choke required. The gear box exhibit no wear at all with good syncromesh on all gears & a very tigh taut action to the changes. Suspension is soft & supple.
We have had the car on a ramp & can report that it is as solid underneath as it is on top, having been alwyas garaged during its life. The large set of bills coming with the car attest to regular caring maintenance when required to keep the car in tip top running conditon. It has a o anywhere feel to it & Iw ould nothesitate to take it on a tour of France or similar. At 6ft 3" tall I am comfortable in it so it is well sited to those of taller stature.
Please note that this is an original unrestored car with lots of patina & feeling to it. If you seek new & shiny then this is not for you. But if you appreciate the feel of an untouched yet very useable car then it is well worth a look. Driving it is such a pleasure.
