1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville
Vin Number: 59J023500
Registration Number: 544UXM
Simply vast, stylish & with massive rear fins; this Cadillac absolutely catches the essence of 1950's american styling. The car was sourced from a Texas estate sale in 2005. It is a low mile original car that has not been messed around with or restored. The car is completley solid with no major corrosion & just light surface rust in the engine bay.
The current owner has had the car for 18 or so years & kept it as part of a small private collection of Rolls Royce, Bentley & assorted American cars. It has been run regularly but used sparingly & starts instantly when the key is turned.
The exterior black paintwork is original to the car & has stood the test of time well. The interior in black & white vinyl is likewise original to the car & in very good order. Even the boot liner is original to the car albeit with some age related staining.
These big american engines are both powerful, reliable & bullet proof. The car starts instantly & drives beautifully, there being as the americans say "No substitute for Cubes". Actual capacity is 390 cubic inches equating to some 6.4 litres mated to a 4 speed hydramatic automatic gear box. Performance is very respectable with almost 130 MPH being attainable when new.
Overall this car is a bit of a time warp being in such original unmolested condition. It has a huge wow factor & attracts admirers anywhere it is shown. It has a strong engine & go anywhere feel to it & I would not hesitate to drive it long distance. The car comes with an assortmet of paperwork including its last Texas title from an address equidistant between Dallas & Houston. A set of MOT certificates come with the car showing just a few hundered miles being covered each year. Various bills for different service parts & brake cylinders etc come with the car attesting to the service work it has had done to keep it in good condition.
