1962 Maserati 3500 GTi Coupe Superleggera by Touring.

Chassis number:  10102328

Registration Number: 207YUB

Engine number: 1694

Imported in 2010 as a rust free California car by the first British owner who had it restored to running condition. Then acquired by a British lady who undertook a massive & painstaking full restoration of the car spending around £150,000 on the vehicle for which full bills are on file.  After that the car was sparingly used by her on high days & holidays until her passing.

The car is finished in its original colour of Blu Sera Metallizzato  with  new grey hide to the seats & new grey carpets.  The restoration brief was to make the car as modern day usable as possible. To that end the car is fitted with modern electronic fuel injection hidden within the original troublesome Lucas injection, and individual coil packs for each of the 12 sparking plus (two per cylinder) all controlled by programmable electronic ignition  meaning the car starts instantly from cold first time, every time & immediately settles down to an even idle. The engine now has a fatter torque curve and increased power compared to standard making it the best driving 3500 we've ever enjoyed.

The bills are extensive & eye watering with just about everything that could have been done to the car mechanically, having been done to it.  Further upgrades include a new aluminium radiator to the original pattern, and an expensive digital radio incorporated in the period casing,  It is a simply beautiful car to drive with serious modern day performance to match.  The car sits on a newly manufactured set of Turrino alloy rim  wire wheels that suit the car admirably.

These Maserati cars really epitomised the concept of a rapid cross continent grand Routier in the 1960's and are an amazing driving experience infinitely preferable in my mind to similar Aston Martin products.  They offer comfort & space for 4 passengers & really are very very usable cars.  This one comes to us in impeccable condition ready for serious use.
