1983 Daimler Sovereign series three 4.2 litre

Chassis Number: SAD-DCRLP3CC376178

Registration Number:  A566MTT

A 7,000 mile timewarp car.  THis car was ordered new by one Gladys Dorothy Lewis who died at the ripe old age of 100 bequeathing the car to her son.  She ordered the car new from supplying dealer Dutton Forshaw in Torquay where the car lived cosseted in a garage its entire life.  THis is a single family owned car.

This is a car that was garaged from new & never ever used in the rain.  Mostly used for a 3 mile local shopping trip; if the weather was wet Gladys would simply wait to do her shopping 'til the weather was dry as related by her son who inherited the car.

Current mileage covered since new is 7695 miles with a signed letter from the son attesting to this.  Simply put never have I seen a better one.  It is in flawless condition & utterly rust free.

The car was ordered new in Clarendon Blue with a doeskin interior as indicated on the heritage certificate.  Both inside & outside are needless to say like new.  The car looks new & drives like new.  The only non original part is the headlineing which had started to sag & was replaced with new.  The battery has also of course been replaced.

The cars original tool kit is found in its appointed place in the boot as is the jack & unused spare wheel located under the boot floor.  The original book pack & instruction manual also comes with the car along with a variety of bills from assorted speciaists for servicing recommissioning & maintaining the car.

On the road this car drives like new.  It purrs along in unruffled silence cossetting the occupants in the opulent splendour of its interior.  I can remember being picked up from school in one of these when they were new & vividly remember what a special expereince it was; in no way diminished by the pasiing of 40 or so years.

Simply put, I cannot believe there is a better example out there.  A major £5,000 service was done in 2020 at which time all perished rubber gaiters etc were replaced & the car as a whole put into tip top order.
