1928 Bentley 4.5 litre Vanden Plas Tourer.
Chassis Number: 96452801
Registration Number: YV4790
A lovely 4.5 Litre Tourer built up by the renowned Julian Ghose of Green Farm Racing using one of his new Chassis. The car incorporates an assortment of original parts from various donor cars including chassis 2801 & AD3664. The registration is on a suitably numbered period plate from 1928. Since being built the car has seen very few miles being sparingly used.
Engine number is AD3662, Steeing Box AD3664, Front Axle RN3033 & Rear Axle 4268, all being original W.O. Bentley parts. A close ratio C type gear box fully rebuilt with new gears is also fitted.
The results are a stunning car that goes as well as it looks. The fully rebuilt engine makes all the right noises & pulls very hard. High compression pistions are fitted as are Bronze bodied carbutettors. The gear box new internals make the car a pleasure to drive. The car is fitted with what appears to be an original Vanden Plas body. We are having it closely inspected to see if any numbers are evident. Certainly it is of some considerable age.
The car is up to full on Lemans spec with a dashboard crammed full of the usual instrumentation. Red hides adorn the seats front & rear along with red carpets to the rear. To the back is a large capacity LeMans style fuel tank.
The car is ready for immediate use having been little used since build. Is is lightly patinated in just the right manner with painted Union Jacks & racing numbers adorning the sides & rear.
The car was first registered in 1997 in the UK & the UK log book shows date of manufacture as being of 1928 origin on the chassis dash plate numbered 2801 allowing it to be easily registered in Europe.
