1957 Bentley S1 Continental H.J. Mulliner Fastback
Chassis Number: BC12BG
Body Number: 5942
Registration Number: SNM3
In impeccable condition & under single ownership for the last two decades or so. This S1 Fastback was purchased around 2004 out of a prominent Japanese collection belonging to one Mr Yutaka Takahashi where it had covered just 100 miles in the 10 years it was in Japan.
Upon purchase by the current owners a comprehensive test & report was done upon the car by noted specialists P & A wood extending to some 6 pages. Over the last years of ownership the list has been addressed & attended to by a number of well known marque specialists including Royce Engineering, West Hoathly Garage, P & A Wood & Richard Parsons. The bills are substantial & run to many tens of thousands of pounds.
The car is thus in superb condition & is driving beautifully. The Masons Black exterior paint is in fine order as is the close to pristine stone coloured leather interior. All woodwork has also been removed & refinished to a high gloss. The car starts instantly & drives exactly as one of these ought with smooth silent power & imperceptible gear changes.
The car comes to us with a huge history file of minutely detailled invoices including an itemized listing of expenditures since 1994. This includes a full suspension rebuild, gear box rebuild, tappets and a plethora of other small jobs. Interestingly the car still has its original wind up radio ariel the crank for which is located in the drivers footwell. The car shares garage space with the modern equivalent; a Rolls Royce Wraith & they make a great pair standing side by side.
Please note: We have four of these for sale all in similarish condition although I would rate this one as the best of the four due to the massive recent expenditure. The real question to be answered is do you prefer Black, Green, Silver or Dark Blue?
