1953 Jaguar XK120 OTS with race history.

Chassis Number:  661048

Regiatraton Number: MUF559 (Also XY7 in period.)

The Geneva show car, purchased new in 1953 by Mr Palmer-Norwood from Moores of Brighton.  The car had a C Type head fitted & larger sand cast carburettors  after which it was raced in a number of events setting amongst other things a fastet lap record twice in Members meetings races in 1956.  Lots of correspondence & magazine articles come with the car detailing the exploits of previous owners & documenting the race history.

The car started life in cream but in 1954 was painted blue & white, the colours we find it in today.  The paint is very tidy & presents very well.  The car is now being sold by the estate of the last owner who had the carr for over a decade, raced it occasionally & lavished many 10's of thousands of pounds upon it with the likes of Broadspeed to put it in the condition we find it in today.

To the interior is Brand new blue leather to the bucket style seats & door cards .  The original seats also come with the car.  Underfoot are blue carpets & the hood is a brand new mohair item of very high quality.  Disc brakes are fitted up front giving the car excellent stopping power.

This is a fully sorted car & is the best & fastest XK120 I have had the pleasure of driving.  The engine is absolutely crisp & responsive in a way that only Jaguar Twin Cams tend to be with ample power & instantaneous pick up from lower speeds.  The engine has done few miles since a full rebuild by guy broad with bills on file for over £30,000 on the engine alone & a full set of pictures showing the engine out of the car & the work in progress.  The engine like most race cars is not original as it was replaced in period afther the factoy unit blew up with a rod though the side of the block.

Eligible for numerous period racing events the car is absolutely ready to go & in really fine running order.  The history file is huge & far to big to photograph in its entirety with masses of inovices dating back over the years. Some scrutineering stickers remain on the car from previous racing exploits.  This car drives beautifully & would also make a really good fast road car or Mille Miglia contestant etc.
