1968 Daimler 250 V8 Saloon.
Chassis number: P1K2993BW
Registration Number: UPF827F
Multiple concours winner: This beautiful Daimler was restored to nut & bolt new perfection & has won prizes at several dozen shows since with certificates galore to back this up. The current owmers Sent the car to their local Jaguar specialists to ready the car for the 2023 seaon with an open cheque book approach. Accordingly around £12,000 was spent to put the car into tip top order with a massive list of small jobs that were done. This inlcuded new brake calipers & shoes, New Fifferential seals as it was leaking & a host of other small jobs including a full tune up & service with the timing set back to factory spec as it was a bit out.
The car has covered some 90,000 miles from new in the hands of four owners & has always resided in Norfolk, Lincolnshire & now Yorkshire. It is finished in its original colour of Opalescent Silver Grey with blue leather seating to the interior all in concours condition. The car is fitted with chrome wire wheels all round & a Borg Warner automatic gear box along with power steering.
A large box with simply masses of paperwork comes with the car. Far too copious to photograph in its entirety; it contains numerous bills & detailed owners records over the years of mileages covered & expenditures undertaken. There are also assorted magazine articles & photographs of the car over the years.
Under the bonnet the engine bay is simply pristine & about as original as they come. The V8 engine purrs into life instantly & is a paragon of smoothness being almost imperceptible in its running. On the road it pulls strongly with seamless changes from the automatic gear box. Indeed I rate these Daimlers as being well ahead of the equivalent Jaguar Mark 2 cars in terms of refinement & the simple pleasure of driving one.
Not much more need to be said of this car as it is as close to perfect as any I have seen. It is ready to be shown & no doubt win more prizes for the new lucky owner.
