Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1934 Rolls-Royce 20/25 Sports Saloon coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly For Sale.

Registration: AXF 286

Chassis no: GHA39

Engine no: G-6-2

Mileage shown: 10,029

Copies of the chassis test sheets show that GHA 39 was tested by the works on the 21st December 1932 and was despatched to Thrupp and Maberley on the same day. It didn’t take them long to complete the Sports Saloon bodywork (ordered with painted hinge mouldings) as the car was first registered on 1st February 1933 to a Mr Trehearne who purchased it through Rootes Ltd, Devonshire House, Piccadilly. He kept it until 1964.

A bare metal respray was carried out by Ron Long and Sons in the early ‘90s. The comprehensive file of invoices also details a retrim in Connolly hide in 1999, at which point the brightwork was also re-chromed. A new aluminium cylinder head was fitted in 1986.

Thanks to a very recent re-spray in the same colour combination GHA39 is offered for sale in excellent condition. The two-tone Grey paintwork works perfectly to highlight the sports lines; the wings are long with a beautiful sweep, the bonnet is louvers continue into the scuttle, the boot is spacious from the inside and curved from the outside, there is a covered rear mounted spare wheel which works beautifully with the shaped rear bumpers. There are two front mounted horns, headlamps and a single spot lamp mounted to the front of the car; the chromework all around is in great condition.

The interior is spacious and well finished in grey leather, the boot is also finished in Grey leather with a concealed tool tray in the lid. There is a large sunroof to the front which transforms the inside feel and lets in an abundance of light.

The engine is smooth and sweet, there is a thick service file that comes with the car; the way she pulls and handles is a testament to their work, there is also an overdrive fitted which engages perfectly and allows for a higher speed with lower revs.
