1925 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Barrel Sided tourer
Chassis number: 122AU
Registration number: BF7639
A stunning car bodied in the 1980's by Reeves as an exact copy of a Barker Barrel sided tourer. Indeed an original Barker car was used as a template to construct the car. It has the coachwork left in Raw polished aluminium giving it a Maharajah style appearance & clearly standing out when amongst other Rolls Royce cars.
At the time of the body being mounted to the car the chassis, engine, axles & brakes were all rebuilt to as new. Since then the car has covered very few miles & is consequently in commensurate wonderful mechanical condition. When viewed from underneath the car is spotless & looking new.
To the interior is buttoned blue leather throughout extending to the twin occasional stools that fold out of the bulkhead making the car a true 7 seat conveyance. An Auster style screen is also fitted for the protection of rear occupants.
The roof is of dark blue double duck canvas cloth & is in as new condition. A pair of tonneau covers come with the car covereing the front & rear passenger areas. A radiator cover also comes with the car made from the same double duck material. A full set of small tools is located in the running board.
Being a late Ghost this car is well suited to long tours. It is equipped with 4 wheel brakes & fuel delivery is via its originbal autovac unit. A large motoring trunk has ben restored & is fitted to the rear luggage rack.
The engine is a pargon of silence & is detailed to show standards with masses of polished brass & copper. A nickel Klaxon is fitted to the bulkhead.
To sum up, this is a very striking beautifully executed late Rolls Royce Silver Ghost incorporating all the improvements that had been devised to improve the cars during their 20 year production run. It needs nothing, wants for nothing & is ready for extended long distance use.
